Fluffing his feathers!

Little Landon has blessed our lives already. He is such a joy to have around. He is instantly loved by those as soon as they place their hands on him to hold and snuggle with him. He has been my smallest little guy and I've loved having a smallerISH baby in my arms. Damon, on the other hand, like it when our babies "fluff their feathers." Yesterday we realized Landon has fluffed those feathers and while Daddy is happy he's not so fragile anymore Mommy is not so happy he's growing so much! Instead I want to always remember him curled up in a ball sound asleep in my arms. Once Landon is asleep good he is out. I could change his diaper, take him out of the carrier, put him in the carrier or place him in a bowl outside on the beach on a cold windy day and he'd still be sound asleep! I love this about him. There are a few things I absolutely love watching on a newborn baby. I love how they are born with what seems to be no eyelashes. As the days go on and their face swelling goes down out come these beautiful lashes. I think Landon like my other two boys will have beautiful lashes that the ladies will envy. Next, I love the newborn glaze over their eyes. Landon's eyes were so dark and glossy at first I could hardly see any blue, only jet black. My very favorite newborn feature is the little white dots on their nose. I love looking at them and counting them as I feed my sweet baby. Landon started out with 9 cute little while dots and as his feathers have fluffed he only has 3 left. This breaks my heart and means he is growing right before my eyes!
Gone are the days of him sleeping all day on and off with no schedule. He's starting to have more alert times and then goes down for a nap, which continues throughout our day. I still love every second I get to watch this precious baby sleep. Sometimes I just have to steal a kiss from him as he sleeps with his precious lips.

I've been amazed at this super baby's strength since he was just a few days old. The day we got home from the hospital he was all swaddled up and somehow rolled over. I didn't know this was possible but since then he has done it 2 other times! Landon has loved holding his little head up over my shoulder ever since his first week. Now he loves to lay there and look around at lights and movement around him. For now, we'll just call him super baby!

Even though his feathers are fluffed he is still my tiny sweet baby. His cry is still a newborn cry. He still smells delicious. He still needs my constant care. And he still and will forever melt my heart.

Things Have Changed

Things have sure changed since my last baby. I had all these favorites that have been replaced with new favorites. Today I wonder how I lived without a few things and I laugh at one that is now on the top of my list, my iPhone! You would not believe how handy it has been. Late night feedings aren't so boring while reading Facebook or blogs. The room is still pretty dark for Landon to go back to sleep too! Picture taking with ease to send to Daddy while away is another reason this phone has saved me. The most important reason for the iPhone is the white noise app! Now I have to share my phone with a 3 week old, crazy I know, but well worth it. Landon now sleeps soundly to waves crashing as my phone lays next to him. I love it! He is one high tech little baby! I'm sure when he is older he will laugh at my old school phone but for now it saves me.

Thank you Apple for giving my little guy sweet dreams and me time to go clean my kitchen.

Birth Story

With a scheduled c-section, you don't get that exciting of a birth story! I wanted my water to break and have a little adventure but like my other boys Landon didn't want to come out either! On Monday, June 14th at 5:30 a.m. Damon and I were suppose to arrive at the hospital to get checked in and ready for our newest addition's birth. However, I turned off my alarm and fell right back asleep until Damon's alarm went off! I decided they couldn't start without me and I wasn't rush getting ready so we got there 30 minutes late. I love our drives to the hospital before the baby is born. The early morning and the excitement is surreal. Damon and I went over names and what to say if he had orange hair. We made it up to the Labor and Delivery floor and got all checked in. When the time came to enter the operating room Damon had to rush and put our bags in my hospital room. They took me in without him and gave me a spinal block and seemed to be all ready but there was no Damon! I started to stress out and think I cannot do this again until Damon walked in and I was able to relax and be calm again. It's amazing the feeling of panic I was feeling and how quickly it went again once Damon was there. I was feeling so calm I almost fell asleep at times! I always ask Damon if they have started to cut yet and it always ends up they already have yet I had no idea what they were doing. I'll never forget when Landon let out his cry and he entered the world.
So sweet and so tender our little boy was finally here. The nurse screamed out he has red hair which after his first bath we found wasn't really red but brown. I guess the doctor accidentally broke my water and it squirted out all over! Even though Landon is my smallest baby they had a very hard time getting him out! They pushed and pulled bruising me in the process but finally got him out. This picture if my favorite! Landon's first breath.
Once Landon was here and I got my first glimpse I felt at peace. I didn't have to worry about him or the surgery. He was here and perfect as can be!

Welcome Little Landon

Introducing our newest addition,
Landon Rix John Young
Born June 14, 2010
8 pounds 12 ounces
20 inches long Her seriously is the sweetest little baby. He came into this world calm as can be and loved instantly by many. He looks just like Trevor who looked just like Shane when he was born so we'll see who he develops like as he grows!
I still cannot believe he is finally here and perfect in every way. Most of the time when I hold him I just want to eat his deliciousness up! His chubby cheeks and soft skin make me want to hold him all day long.
It's hard to believe of I'm mommy of 3 and we are a family of 5! It's beautiful and perfect, and I am happy and content. I have been blessed with my beautiful family more than I could ever have dreamed. He is my smallest little guy even though to many he is a large baby. He seems extra tiny and cozy to hold. Landon's hands seem extra long next to his little arms and legs. He looks like a puppy that has to grow into his paws! He's just too precious.

We are all as proud as can be. I now have 4 guys in my life and I love them each in a different and special way. Shane could not wait to hold Landon and Trevor was scared. It took Trevor a day to hold him as he was worried of Landon's fragile state. Damon instantly fell in love and couldn't wait to show him off to all. Between all of us, I'm not sure if he's ever going to be put down.

Little Landon is another blessing I'm honored to hold. I look at him and cannot believe how lucky I am to have another little boy and another little baby. He has stolen each of our hearts as we welcomed him into our family.

Can't Wait

I can't wait for tomorrow.
I can't wait to not have to pee 4-5 times in the night
I can't wait to stop eating Tums all day everyday.
I can't wait to have ankles again and not cankles.
I can't wait to bend and pick up things off the ground in ease.
I can't wait see my toes.
I can't wait to sleep in comfort again.
I can't wait to stop throwing up!
I can't wait to have feeling in my wrist and hand again.
I can't wait to have energy again.
I can't wait to wear normal clothes.
I can't wait to wear my wedding ring again.
I can't wait just feel normal.
Most of all I can't wait to hold my sweet new baby in my arms tomorrow!

These Two

For four years it has been these two little guys. Four little hands to hold and twenty little toes to keep warm. Two tummies to feed, two scrapbooks to make, two seat belts to click and two faces to kiss. These two have been my greatest joys and blessings. Shane has been the older brother to guide and protect Trevor. He helps him and comforts him as an older brother should. Trevor has always been the baby. Loving to be held and taken care of. Together they have been the perfect team of cops and robbers, Buzz and Woody, Batman and Robin or whatever it is they choose to play.
Tomorrow this will all change forever. I will have more hands to hold and another boy to cherish. I sometimes wonder if I have broken this team of these two brothers but then I think about the love this baby has already brought us and will continue to bring. Shane and Trevor have mastered the art of bottle making before he is even here with all their practices. They have helped put together bouncier seats, swings, and cribs. Blankets have been folded and diapers put away. I'm sure about a million questions have been asked about their new brother too. Here we are, ready for this new little guy. Now we will have The Three Stooges, The Three Wisemen, My Three Sons and The Three Musketeers to keep our home full of laughter and love.

Shane will continue to lead and guide Trevor as he teaches him to be a big brother too. Trevor will not only be Shane's little shadow but have a shadow of his own. I will still get to say, "BOYS, it's time to go or BOYS eat your dinner." I will now have more kisses to give and love to share and I cannot wait. These two will always be my loves and soon my heart will be bigger and more full with these THREE.

Seeing Green

Shane is obsessed. Obsessed with MONEY! He use to want to only be a police officer, but now he wants to be a police officer and a BILLIONAIRE! His favorite song at the moment I Wanna Be a Billionaire which he knows all the words to as he sings along. He wonders if Oprah will be dead by the time he is a grown-up because then he can then take her place on the cover of Forbes magazine! Shane is constantly trying to find ways to get money into his little hands. He has a job and a work shirt that goes along with it. He asks to have business meetings with his employer too. All this at the old age of 6! Good thing our friend and neighbor, Nikki, knows how to play along with Shane's madness and hires him to clean up around her house! Yesterday I thought he was being so thoughtful wanting to buy me a drink at Costco all by himself but it turns out he only wanted my change! Cash is what he dreams of and that is what he got for his birthday! I've never heard of a little boy so excited to go to the bank! He kept asking to go DAILY! Now that the money is in the bank he can't spend it which is fine by him.
Trevor gets in on the action too but on a smaller scale. It's nice having them aware of money because now when they want something they break out THEIR wallets! It's funny how wanting $20 items are gone and now it's down to $1 items.

I don't think Shane will get rich becoming a police officer but maybe he will find something else on the side. This little money obsession at such a young age reminds me of his Daddy. I'm just enjoying someone willing to clean the house even if it makes my wallet less full.
