Homemade by ME!
I've seen something like this on a few different blogs. The first time, I missed being part of the first five.
Here is the deal: The first five people to comment on this post will get something made by me.
This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:
1- I make no guarantees that you will like what I make.
2- What I make will be just for you.
3- It'll be done this year.
4- You have no clue what it's going to be. Who knows? Not you, that's for sure!
5- I reserve the right to do whatever I want!
The catch? Oh, the catch is that you must re-post this on your own blog and offer the same deal to 5 of your own lucky blog readers. So, the first 5 people to leave a comment telling me they are in, win a FAB-U-LOUS homemade gift by me! Oh, and be sure to post a picture of what you win when you get it.
Let the games begin!

Honduras
The Bay Islands were amazing and quite relaxing but we wanted to get the real cultural experience of Honduras so we decided to stay a few days on the mainland. We started our journey back with a boat ride for a few hours. Then, onto a bus ride. Our taxi driver told us we were just going to make it on the next bus by just a few minutes. I had to pee so bad so as Damon bought the tickets I went to the bathroom. On my way in I didn't notice a man sitting outside the bathroom with little folded up toilet paper to buy. I will tell you I got the cultural experience I was looking for in the first drip drying minutes of being on the mainland!!
We had a bus ride and enjoyed fresh baked bread and fresh mango then relaxed in the hotel. After a nice sleep in a real hotel (I don't want that much of a cultural experience) we went to the market! I was so excited. Damon goes to these all the time so it was not a big deal for him except he was glad to be my barter man!
Now this sweet girl will stay in my heart forever. We bought almost everything from her. She was so excited for us to be buying her stuff her hands were shaking. She even cut her finger with a knife trying to cut a string for me to get something. I gave her a few band aids and I'm sure she thanked me in her Spanish. Damon barters away to then give her the full amount at the end. As soon as we give her money she calls to a boy to go get beans and tortillas. Next thing I know she gives us a key chain of thanks and she is eating her first meal in who knows how long right before me. I don't think she would have eaten if she didn't get a sale that day. Throughout our morning shopping she would find us, smile and thanks us. She taught me compassion and to count my blessings.
My favorite find of the day was a new apron. Damon's favorite find of the day was a hand carved wooden box. We had so much fun together.
We were just walking around looking at all the stuff with the sweet girl on the end in blue smiles real big and hold her hand like she is taking a picture. She wanted us to take her picture. I never turn down a will candidate and showed her how pretty she looked. No parents were around the kids were waiting around content and happy while their mothers were working at the market. These children taught me happiness and to count my blessings.

There were all these beautiful flowers lining the streets. Damon kept trying to buy me some but we were leaving the next morning so it was the thought that counts!

More kids wanting pictures and teaching us about happiness and counting our blessings.

Shane asked us to bring him back a pineapple but we couldn't so instead I told him a picture. The fruit was so fresh and so yummy. We saw miles and miles of Dole pineapple fields. We ate one on the island one morning freshly cut for only $1.50.
In the market there were ladies working away in a hot room making tortilla after tortilla. No air conditioning, I'm sure no breaks, no cushy pads to stand on just hard floors. These ladies taught me hard work and to count my blessings.

Today
Today was not a very good. I was sick with the flu. Not the worst flu ever, only throwing up once, but my body hurts so so bad! I had plans of fun, parks, and shopping for the newest nephew in my life and lunch with a friend. Instead I spent my day wishing I was here instead sipping Coca Cola Light on the beach with the man I will continue to love forever.
I wish I was buying necklaces from this 3 year old. Thinking to myself, how blessed I am that my almost 3 year old only worries about which shoes he should wear his Sketchers or Crocks.

FRIENDS.
I got Facebook well wishes, e-mails, texts, phone calls, and multiple offers to take my children. Thanks to wonderful neighbors and friends my children were take care of, fed, and looked after. I was even taken care of with crackers and soda to calm my tummy. For some reason when you are in child bearing years it is always assumed, but no I'm not pregnant!
I am fine, it was just a little flu but, I feel loved and that makes me feel even better.

Back from Paradise
We are home after nine days of paradise. We are safe and we are more relaxed then ever! Our trip reminded me of days before kids. Relaxation. Thoughts of only each other. It couldn't have been better.
We flew into the mainland of Honduras so we could experience the people and their customs. I love going to Central America because they are so kind to us. We are like celebrities walking around. There are always a few people who have the courage to say hi. Most just stare as the gringos walk by. We usually don't lift a finger as they take our bags, load the cars, or get us food. We became spoiled and lazy but the reality hit once we were home with Damon back to work and me cooking and cleaning! Here we are at the bus stop, trying to keep up with our guide taking us to our next stop.
Our plan was to stay the night in La Ceiba and take the ferry out to the island. However, we woke up the biggest rainstorm I have ever seen. We thought we had planned our trip perfect before the rainy season but the rain still came! Instead we got onto this tiny plane where my life flashed before my eyes many times!! We were rocking and a rolling with luggage all around us! The flight was so bumpy and the pilots didn't seem well equipped. The plane smelled of gasoline and I don't think I have said so many prayers in my life! We made it to ground and we are able to laugh about it now.
Once we arrived on the Roatan Island we made it to our beautiful resort and got acquainted with our neighbors and got right into our suits.
The storm had passed and we pretty much just did this our entire time on the island.
It couldn't have been more beautiful and more relaxing.
Damon did a lot of this. It's crazy to be in a third world country and still be able to chat with friends on Facebook.
As for me, I enjoyed every lazy second in my hammock reading my books.
Here is the view from our bungalow.

Each morning we would wake up and go for a walk down the beach. My favorite part was the freshly raked sand. We were only with a few others walking on the beach too. It was amazing to have uninterrupted time to talk with the love of my life again. The things we take advantage of with kids around!
This is pretty much the lifestyle we had while on the island. The natives were kind and always helpful. They even spoke English so I didn't feel too confused and lost.
We spent our days swimming, relaxing, and enjoying the sun. Then we spent the next while picking out where we would go to lunch. One day we had the best Honduran food of fresh tortilla with beans, salsa, avocado, and meat when we met some parrots that wouldn't let us eat our lunch! Each day when we were done with lunch we would go back to swimming, relaxing, and enjoying the sun until dinner.
The best part... coke in a glass bottle! It tastes so much better even if it's Coca Cola Light instead of Diet Coke!
We had taken a water taxi to the other side of the island and Damon asked the driver about fishing. Always trying to make some money he said he would take us and we decided to go along with him and go fishing just like the locals do! Check out that "pole."
Damon had luck and caught some things. It was crazy, we never caught the same type of fish.

I didn't have any luck but enjoyed being outside instead.

This rock tied to a string was our anchor!
One day we went horseback riding through the jungle and then on the beach. It was just Damon and I with our guide. The jungle was amazing. All the banana trees, coconut trees, huge palms, ferns, and flowers were beautiful!

These are the types of pictures you get when you ask someone who has never used a camera to take your picture! He was so nervous to take our picture but he got what mattered in!!!
Lazy days were pretty much what we did. We snorkeled each day. Damon is like a little kid on Christmas morning in the water. He loves to explore and dive 50 feet to the bottom. Me, I'm more cautious and stay at the top. I last about 20 minutes while Damon is always out at least an hour! We saw so many beautiful fish, king crabs, a sea turtle, eels (YUCK!), and the worst part jelly fish that stung me ALL over! It didn't hurt too bad until the next day I was itching like crazy!

This is where we would eat breakfast every morning. Enjoy our afternoon drinks. Relax. Watch the sunset.
I thought I would be ready to leave but guess what? I didn't want to go home. If we didn't have 2 darling boys waiting for us we may not have come back! We enjoyed our last walk on the beach before we packed up to get our cultural experience on the mainland. The greatest part of traveling is the friends you meet along the way. We said our good-byes and loaded our stuff onto the ferry.

We'll be back. The Island was too perfect to not enjoy again someday. I'm hoping that someday will be sooner rather than later!

Letter from the Roatan
Dear Shane and Trevor,
After 6 days without you we miss you so much!! We know you are having so much fun with your Grandmas and Grandpas! We have seen so much on our trip and can't wait until you are big enough to come with us.
You will never believe it but we rode on an airplane just like the one from Madagascar 2 and it was just as scary! The pilot never told us, "the good news is we are landing... the bad news is we are crash landing" even though we thought we were a few times.
Daddy loves to swim in the water with his mask on. He saw Dorrie and her whole family and Crush the turtle. We looked around for Nemo but could never find Nemo.
We rode horses through the jungle and then on the beach. Mommy's horse was named Floss and kept eating all the grass!
We even went on a boat to drive to a store to buy you presents instead of driving in a car! We went fishing with the locals and Daddy caught 3 fish, Mommy caught 0!
We were sitting in the hammock today and we thought we might have been in Diego's jungle because guess what we saw? 5 Macaws flying in the air! They were so pretty.
We love you both so much and can't wait to come home to see you. Be good for Grandma and Grandpa.
Love,
Mommy and Daddy
