Fishing for some Fun!

Shane celebrated his 5th birthday and REELED in the fun! The weather was amazing for an April day in Vegas and not even hot! Shane had a blast being the center of attention and I had fun creating. The only thing, I wish I didn't have to actually run the party and could just sit and talk with all our great friends! Here are all the decorations. Aunt Cyndi was here and helped pull everything together. I have love having my sisters here and getting ready together. Here are the pictures of his photo shoot. The small jars have real fish in them for a party favor. Some moms weren't too happy about this but I had to have real fish at a fishing party! There was a fish Piggies and Paws too. The party favors along with the fish were squirting fish for the tub, bubbles, gold fish crackers, Swedish fish, and a small bag of real fish food.

Buckets of bait on the table with gummy worms, gold fish crackers, and Swedish fish.

Don't mind the few sleeping on the bottom. I asked Damon to buy 40 fish and he did! There were fish everywhere! Many died and some were killed... by accident. I won't name names but one crazy 3 year old decided to try out his netting skills and scooped out all the fish and put them in a jar. Good skills but the jar had no water in it! Sorry little fishies!

Felt fish I made hanging from lanterns from Michael's.

Snacks and food were the Catch of the Day.
Red Grapes... Salmon Eggs
Natural Cheetos... Worms
Frog Eye Salad... Caviar
PBJ fish cut out... Catch of the Day
Dirt Cake... Bait

When Shane decided he wanted this theme (yes, I let him semi-pick now.) I wasn't sure about games but I did my best. The kids ate bait (gummy worms) without using any hands. They loved this game! It was too cute with all their smiles.

The birthday boy loving being the fish and getting the bait.

Got it!

Trevor cracks me up in these pictures.

I guess, Mr. T cheated!

The next game, tossing a ball into a jar with a fish.

This was too hard so Shane decided to make it work! He was trilled to be the birthday boy and get to go first for each game! He reminded me of this rule all week long.
Ever since Halloween bobbing for apples has been a favorite activity at our house. When I asked Shane what games he wanted to do he said bob for apples. We modified this a bit and bobbed for fish!

Shane is not a pro at bobbing now!

We had a fishing booth. I made the sheet but don't look too close with my sewing skills on the bubbles! YIKES!

What is a party without a Pinata! This was about half the line of kids. Look at all our cute little friends!

Yum, look at all the candy the birthday boy got!
I almost cry during the birthday song each year. I cannot believe my little boy is already 5. It has gone too fast but I cherish every second of it.

I love how all the kids get so excited for Shane to open their present and show him what they got him. Everyone was too kind and got him the best presents ever! He has watched no TV and has been too busy playing.

Happy 5th Birthday Shanners! We are so blessed to have you in our family. I love how you are always thoughtful. After the party Shane came and sat on my lap and told me "Thanks mom for a great party. You're the best mom in the whole world!" I have to say it's pretty easy when you have the best kids in the whole world!

Young Impressions

I have made some changes with my photography business but have been too lazy to update my website! You know everything is "due to the economy" but really I know pictures are the first thing to go yet our kids are still growing and changing. I wanted to changed my prices so I can still take pictures of darling children and captures the memories I so love doing.

NEW PRICES
Sitting fee along with CD of images in both color and black & white.
Print release will be give for full printing rights.
$125 for the first child and $25 for each additional child
$275 for family pictures. This includes family, individual, couple, etc.

Now look at these beauties I was able to take pictures of. Aren't they darling? These are just some teasers for mommy Olivia! I can't get over how different her 2 girls looks yet how beautiful they both are. I'm usually a fan of black and white but with her shirt and then red hair I can't get over how beautiful she is! Couldn't get a good picture of the 2 girls together. You know, a 10 month old and then almost 2 year old it's pretty much impossible. I love this picture because it is show how little sister is walking at a young age and big sister is in the back doing her own crazy thing! Too cute!
Look at how sweet.
Thanks Olivia for letting me take pictures of your darling girls! They are just too sweet.

caught ORANGE handed!

Seriously Trevor, why all the messes still? I was enjoying some nice girl conversation with a friend downstairs and the boys were playing upstairs. They are big enough now to play upstairs with no worries until Trevor came down to show me this...

I was just thinking he was a mess and didn't think of the upstairs until I saw this!

He is still making messes at the age of 3. He loves art and to be creative but NEVER on paper. He likes walls, couches, himself, the street, anything but paper! In Nursery at church he comes home with the most beautifully colored pictures all colored in the lines. When he does want to "color" on paper he asks me or in this case his teacher to color for him but he picks out the colors! It's pathetic, I know.

I had little orange hands and feet all over my couch upstairs. Crazy Trevor. It could have been worse and all over the carpet too so I guess I should count my blessings.

Grouch-O

My second born has another name that is used quite often and it fits him well.

Grouch-O. He doesn't like it but again him not liking his nickname fits perfectly with the personality and the name! Ever since he was a baby he was grumpy. Damon says Trevor has ruined it for all our other children waiting up in Heaven. He cried and cried and still does to this day. While shopping I get the many comments of, "oh, it must be nap time" or "poor thing he must be hungry or tired." I just respond with the truth... "No, it's just his personality, he's a grump."

This grumpiness can be focused into determination for what he wants or cannot have. He is a know what he wants kid. He is one to push buttons but to quickly turn on the humor to get a laugh instead of anger. A few days ago Mr. T didn't get what he wanted. He went out to the backyard in the beautiful spring day to take it up with the world. I couldn't help but laugh and take pictures which made the tantrum last even longer.

Crying and stomping were all part of this moment!

I shouldn't laugh, but really is life that bad?

Poor Trevor.

Notice the pants, he can't keep them up. When asked if he is going to be a plumber when he grows up he always responds with a quick, YES!

Poor little boy. We really do love you and your Grouch-O personality. You may be learning to talk without a whine but I have come to love that whine. Although you are quick to frustrate you are also quick to love and cuddle. You can go from a cry to the BIGGEST giggle in 2.5 seconds and for this we love you Grouch-0 Trevor!

Easter Fun

There are always so many festivities that go along with our Easter celebration! The boys are at a perfect age to start enjoying the Holiday and having fun with each other as they create, find, and explore. Coloring eggs is a must and surprisingly the boys didn't make a mess while doing it! I think my hands had more color on them this year then their hands did!
Shane wrote his name on his egg and was so excited to see the "magic" happen once he put it in the dye since he couldn't see as he wrote.I think this is the first year Trevor has really been into coloring the eggs. He loved dunking and dipping each of his eggs. The bunny came Easter morning and left a trail of M&M's down the stairs. However, they usually take the boys to their baskets but the M&M's ended once they were downstairs! That bunny decided Shane and Trevor were old enough to find their own hidden baskets this year and guess what, they did!Shanners loving his new game. I think we have played this 100 times since he got it!PEZ are an obsession in our house and the E. Bunny hooked up Mr. T! This candyoholic is in love with candy filled Holidays! On Friday, we had a neighborhood Egg Hunt and dinner. We have the BEST neighbors! The kids have so much fun together and I do have to say they are oh so cute too.

Trevor hit the jackpot and found a golden egg with a dollar in it. He was so proud of all his finds. The kids just ran from house to house collecting eggs in each yard!
So many eggs so little muscles!

Shane is now a pro with all the Egg Hunts under his belt. He loves to dump all the eggs open once he is home into his basket and see what each egg had in it.
This was our first Easter in a few years that we haven't had family to celebrate with. We are blessed to have such wonderful friends to celebrate with. We had a wonderful week of Easter fun!

Happy Easter!

We had a wonderful Easter and hope you did too! We enjoyed Easter dinner with our neighbors and even had an object lesson with resurrection rolls! The kids loved it and they were really good too! I enjoy watching them grow and learn about the Savior.

Shane wanted to be like the manZ and the Bishop and get a white shirt for Easter! He looks so grown up.

Trevor looks handsome as always.
