Scentsy!

It's official, I am now a Scentsy consultant. If you don't know what Scentsy is you will have to come to my launch party! I'll keep you posted. I'm so excited for this new adventure. I absolutely L-O-V-E the products from scentsy. Having the yummy smell of burning candles at room temperature with no fire is great! Just think, if Trevor had gotten into a burning candle last week instead of my Scentsy burner maybe I wouldn't have a house anymore from a fire or a really hurt kid!
I really don't want to go back to teaching next year so I am hoping to bring up my new business strong! If you want to become a consultant let me know and I can help and we can start this adventure together. If you want to host a party I can help you there too and you can earn free products. Believe me, the first time I smelt them I bought 3 burners and I don't want to count how many different types of bars I bought and we just love them around our house. I just got the treasure chest burner to go in my pirate themed classroom! Wish me luck and I hope to see YOU at my launch party!

I have the BEST sister!

Well, I have two other great sisters but this week Tara is saving the day! Months and months ago I signed up to go to Scrap Fest 2008 in St. George with a group of friends. I planned this week-end trip before Damon started his new assignment and last week sadly found out there was no way he could even take a day off. Damon's poor Dad has been in the hospital with kidney stones and my mom's aunt passed away and her memorial service is during this time too. I was complaining to my big sis and she told me this is something I NEED to do (I agree but didn't think anyone else would!) and that she would love to come out and watch the boys so I could get away for the week-end. I can't believe I have the best big sister ever- she's still taking care of me!! Any who, the boys will have so much fun and Uncle Jon even has those days off so he is coming too. I'm so excited to go and am busy planning away and getting ready but now I am sad to miss on all the fun going on at my house! Thanks Tara for being the best sister EVER! You KNOW I'm beyond excited! Let's see how much I actually get done!

*This crazy picture was taken last October when we were at the pumpkin patch. What a fun day.

Primary Talk

Today I have decided that Shane is all grown up! He gave a talk today at church in Primary. I was a little nervous about how he would do but he was so excited! We practiced a few times before church and we were ready! On the way to church he told me he was the first in his class to give a talk because he was the biggest boy and his other friends are too little! The boys didn't cooperate during sacrament (what a surprise) so we went in to take some pictures in the Primary room! Look how excited and proud he is!

His talk was about everyone being created in the image of God so he was happy to talk about his body. He was so proud do be up there and when the real thing came around the microphone was too exciting!

His talk went like this:

Hi, I'm Shane and I have a body. I have 2 eyes, a nose, 2 hands, and 2 legs. Do you know who else has a body like me? (Then he held up the picture of himself)

Heavenly Father has a body and I look just like him. (Held up a picture of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ)

When Jesus Christ was born he had a body too. (Held up a picture of baby Jesus)

I have a little brother named Trevor and he has a body like Heavenly Father. (Help up a pictures of Trevor)

My mom and dad even have bodies like Heavenly Father too. (Held up a picture of a family)

Each of us are spirit children of our Heavenly Father. We have a plan to go back to live with him again. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen. (Held up a picture of 2 kids)

**Sorry folks, now that I can make books so easy from Blurb I am now going to journal a lot MORE! This is the best journal for me and I love that I can print off however many books I want to capture and remember these moments. A few nights ago I was going back to read my blog and I had already forgotten so many things I had written so I'm going to be writing even more! Just scan the pictures if you don't want to read the blah, blah, blah!

Blurb

I am beyond excited. I have started blogging in hopes to use it as my journal but was never quite sure how I was going to put it all together. Well, thanks to Lyndsee I have found it!!! All you bloggers you have to check this out! All you non bloggers who wish they had a beautiful journal of their family's life check it out too and you may want to start a blog. The place is called Blurb. Click on the link and see how easy it is! It now makes me want to post more so I won't forget a thing about my precious boys as they grow up! The format reminds me of my journals in High School. I would add pictures, ticket stubs, and whatever else I could place in there and then write around it. This is a much better way and looks beautiful! There is a video on how to do it and it looks almost too easy and the price is reasonable too. Happy blogging!

I have this little boy...

His name is Trevor. He gets into more trouble than a normal Mommy would want. We were gone all morning so in the afternoon he managed to dump out an entire bottle of water on the carpet, find Shane's soda in the kitchen and dump it all over the floor, throw pieces of Trix Cereal to the dog causing milk splats all over the floor and to top it off, he played in the wax from from Sentsey burner! This doesn't even include the messes from toys and the normal wear and tear of a one year old! He does all this, but then he pulls a face like this and I can't help but scoop him up and give him kisses and forget about all the messes!

Trevor's new thing that I think is absolutely adorable is as he is eating something yummy he will say "Mmmmmmmmmm, SICK!" He says it while eating suckers from the bank, apples, yogurt what ever and it is so cute in his sing songie voice.

Look at how cool his tummy looks! I can't really say rolly because he is completely thinning out like his Daddy. I think he might be more solid because Shane is just a bean pole and Trevor has a little chubbers still!

This kid is the pickiest eater too. He absolutely LOVES apples. He eats a few a day and sometimes manages to hide them from me to find later, yummy! Good thing he is my snuggler and so cute otherwise I might have thrown him out the window long ago!

Let It Snow!

You may find it hard to believe but we are only 45 minutes from home in these pictures! Yes, we have one mountain, Mnt. Charleston, outside of Vegas with some snow. We go every year and once again only Shane loved it. Let's hope Trevor likes it more next year. There were a ton of people there and it was freezing so we didn't last long! We are going there for playgroup this week so I need to go shopping to be better prepared and stay warm this time!

Shane loved every second of it. He just ran around and loved throwing snowballs at Daddy! I clicked a few pictures and put the camera away because my fingers were too cold. I swear I wasn't this cold in Park City a few months ago!

Poor Shane lost his mittens right before we left so he was cold! It took us longer to drive then we played but I was glad to just be doing something together that I didn't care. Then, Damon had to go off roading once we got down the mountain and scare me! I'm such a wimp. Trevor kept saying again, and again to go up hills and get all bumpy! Damon listened to the boys and not the voice of reason, me, and scratched the side of the Sequoia! He is busted but said is was worth it.

I think Trevor only lasted 10 minutes out in the snow and then we had to put him in the car with the heater on! He did look cute out in the snow though. He kept saying "Uhhh, cold." I agreed and sat in there with him!

Big Boys!

I remember hating when people would say this when I was younger but hey it's true so "where is the time going?" My boys aren't little anymore. They run, scream, tackle each other to the ground ( I would say Trevor does this more to his big brother too) and give me more hugs and kisses I would have ever dreamed of getting from my little boys. However, they are getting too big too fast! I miss having my babies but I love having my big boys. We hit a major milestone in our house this past Sunday, Shane is a Sunbeam! He was so excited to be with the big kids! He even told his 1st grade friend from church, I'm a big kid now I don't go with the babies anymore.

I decided to take some pictures since we were ready early which then made us late but WHATEVER! My entire ward was screaming our Hallelujah because after MANY (too many to count) years of 1 p.m church we finally have 9 a.m.! It was a blessed day but Trevor still managed to be tired during nursery and managed to fall asleep on Brother Servere which he never does on his own parents but does each week in nursery!

He actually did fine which is a BIG shocker for how cautious this child is. The only problem, another classes teacher didn't show so I said I would teach the class not even thinking that once I went into the primary and Shane saw me it would all be over and it was. He cried and had to sit with me but he did end up going to his class and having a blast. He cam home with a paper saying, " I am going to love my Trevor by helping him." Too sweet.

Sometimes the only way to get Shane to take a picture is to take Trevor's first (which he never seems to cooperate either) and then Shane screams for his turn! Silly brothers. Trevor's new thing instead of using his favorite word he has added one more word to it so he could have a phrase. It is no longer "nooooo" all the time it's "no waaaay!"

My word for the year

The new year is here and for many that means resolutions but like most people they only last a few short weeks and then they are forgotten. I have been challenged and have been pondering this for a few days now since I have come across this challenge. A single word. I am going to start a new tradition and select a word each year to focus on. A single word can be a powerful thing. It can be the ripple in the pond that changes everything. It can be sharp and biting or rich and soft and slow. The word will be my focus with my boys, my husband, and my actions. I think it will help me be a better mother, wife, and friend. I have been debating between 2 words but have finally selected one because I think it is something I could work on.

Another challenge I have been wanting to do for the past few years but seem to never follow through is "A Pictures A Day." I know, that seems hard, and I may not make it the whole year. I couldn't even make it through 12 months of Shane's first year next to his teddy bear to see his growth. I need to still do Trevor's reindeer Piggies and Paws that I started last year to do for his first 9 Christmases and it's only his second year. Don't worry, I won't post every single picture I take on my blog but I will be taking them and hope I keep up!

With those 2 challenges being said, here is my picture for the day along with my word for the year!

I have this little problem. I can be a LITTLE obsessive! I tend to go overboard with things and my life has been nothing but simple. I started this out by cleaning out every cupboard in my house, I've gone through every toy box, and closet to help me simplify just with the one small aspect of junk in my house! My bigger focus; my family and myself. This single word is my challenge to help me to remember to play cars with my boys, take time for myself, and take care of my husband. Already, I love this challenge! I had this board from a Super Saturday and now have it proudly displayed in my living room to help me remember. I have a vinyl word in my bathroom to help me remember too. There are 2 things, I'm not too sure I can simplify: Enrichment Night and Birthday Parties! I know, I know, but I'm not sure my committee will let me and birthday parties come on Shane and Trevor will only turn 2 and 4 once! Other than that I'm committed! I don't want to over commit myself this year, I want to do fun things with my family, I want to take time for myself and become healthy again. I think I will have time to do all these things if I simplify my life!
If you want to take either of these challenges too, do it! I love the thought of a word for a year. I love the thought of taking a picture each day for a year. I will never forget what I will be doing each day of 2008 because I will have so many pictures! Don't forget to post your word so I know what your word is too. **For those of you who NEVER post log in (it's really simple to create an account- Donna, ElRae and whoever else cyber stalks me!) and post!! Sorry for the long entry with not too many pictures! Happy New Years!
