Taken Care Of

I always knew Damon would be a great husband. I knew he would take care of me and love me. He's been my love for more than half my life! He seems to know what I need and love me no matter what. He has been working himself almost to death for me and for our boys and this makes me love him even more. What I didn't realize in life is that once I had a few little boys they would take care of me too. It's Fathers and Sons Campout this week-end and the boys left me for adventure. The Caveman in Shane couldn't wait to go all decked out in camo he and Daddy bought earlier this week. He was ready for the wilderness and "hunting for animals!" Trevor was excited to go too but the morning before told me he wanted to stay home with me so there was someone to take care of me. My heart melted with his thoughtfulness towards me! Once I told him I was ok and doing girl stuff he was more than happy to go.

With another little guy growing in my belly Shane is thoughtful of me and ready to help me too. He kisses and loves my belly and gets drinks for me and the baby. He always wants to hear how the tube in my tummy brings the drinks and vitamins to the baby.

Life is never what you plan. What I didn't understand is those things I thought I wanted, I don't. I have everything I need with the 3 men in my life and soon it will be even better adding another little guy to the bunch who I'm sure will soon enough be taking care of me too!

Needing Attention

It's funny how things change with time. I remember the days when I couldn't get a picture of the boys together. Now it seems if I want one of just Shane and the smile and lighting are perfect Mr. T comes along and has to put his face in it!
Attention is needed by Trevor and sometimes he'll do anything to get it, even get in trouble!

DinoFOUR!

Trevor couldn't wait for the day to come to celebrate his fourth birthday in style with his new favorites, dinosaurs! I'm not a fan of dinosaurs but gave into his new obsession! We decorated the house with green vines, balloons, and of course... dinosaurs. We ate dino nuggets topped with Lava (ketchup), stegosaurus plates (chips), Dino Eggs (grapes), and washed everything down with Jurassic Juice. Trevor is a picky eater and these are all thing even he eats!
Friends played with T-Rex Mountain and all the millions of dino things Trevor already had once they arrived.

Trevor has always played with kids in an array of ages. He has friends years young than him and years older. I love this about him, he gets along with anyone.

Trevor enjoyed the rule of "birthday boy goes first" and was quick to go to the front of the line at each game. We dug for dino eggs at the Excavation Site. The kids loved this more than I thought they would! They loved digging and even watching their friends dig as they watched to see what baby dinosaur egg they would find.
I love how happy he is in every picture. He truly enjoyed his party and the attention!

Dino Race which was much too hard, although the kids has fun doing it.
Pinata time!

Birthday boy with his tower of cupcakes as big as him! He loves cupcakes and the frosting on top.

My favorite part of birthdays, singing Happy Birthday. This year I got a little emotional realizing how big my baby is! He soaked in all the love from everyone as we sang. This picture is now one of my new favorites. The pure joy on his face with Daddy makes me happy and feel so blessed to have such a wonderful family.
This kid LOVES cupcakes. I made 4 special ones on top just for the 4 year old because Trevor really can eat all four in one sitting but he didn't want them! He did his traditional lick the frosting off just a half of one cupcake and was ready for PRESENTS!
After placing his baby dinosaurs from the Dino Dig just so on the carpet in front of him Trevor was ready to begin. As we waited for everyone to come sit and watch him open presents Trevor tilted his head and smiled at me while soaking in his wonderful day and then said, "I love you Mom." What a perfect way to say thank you. I don't know how I got so lucky to have such a sweet little boy. Everything small thing I did for the party was worth it because he was beyond happy.

Sweet Dreams

I didn't realize it was so easy to please my two little guys. I was crowned greatest mom when I agreed to them sleeping in the crib last night. When Shane let Trevor know they could sleep in the crib he was in awe and said, "For real LIFE!?!" They promised to be out before the baby was born. However, it didn't last long. Soon enough they had escaped and ran to a more squishy bed!

Just call me Mrs. Young

I was lucky enough to sub Shane's kindergarten class and boy was it fun! Shane's teacher asked me if I would like to sub while she was out and I couldn't wait. I told Shane he was going to have a substitute and she was a meanie. I told him she has put him on timeout before and even spanked him! He didn't buy it and laughed away when I told him it was going to be me, Mrs. Young! I'm never in Shane's class for an entire day so it was fun seeing the process. Actually I was the process as I taught the morning away! He liked calling me Mrs. Young and I couldn't help by having a favorite either.
The letter of the week was "F." They all worked really hard and we had a fun day together.

Shane loves his class and his new friends. It was fun having Sadie in there with us too. A typical girl, she became a little chatty and Mrs. Young had to keep her quiet! I love seeing them both in their school environment as they interact with others and learn.
I know Shane won't always be thrilled having me in his classroom but I'm enjoying it while I can. He asks me if I can teach first grade next year so I can be his teacher, but I don't see that happening... ever!

Trevor is FOUR!

I cannot believe my little Trevor isn't so little anymore. FOUR just seems so big and today we celebrated his fourth birthday! In the past few years Trevor has brought us so much joy! He is such a loving little guy that is never afraid of expressing his feelings. He's my cuddlier, funny guy, and all time sweetheart.

Some of his favorites right now are:

Batman
Chocolate Milk
Anything yellow or orange
Playing goo goo AKA baby
Being outside
Pepperoni
Cheese
Sleeping in
It seems like just yesterday he was my sweet little baby that I could easily hold and snuggle with. Those little lips of his were so perfect and still are... always ready for loves and kisses.

Happy Birthday Trevor! We are so lucky to have you in our family. I hope you enjoyed your special day with us because we have enjoyed the past four years with you!

The Proposal

Once again, my heart has been stolen. The other day the kids were playing and figuring out who was marrying who. They came to the conclusion that Shane and Sadie would some day marry and Trevor and Lucy would some day marry. When Trevor heard the news he objected, "No, I'm not, I'm marrying MOM!!" Sadie broke in and told Trevor, "You can't marry your mom... she already has a BOYFRIEND!" Too bad my boyfriend will break up this proposal! Trevor is just the sweetest and tender little guy around. He still thinks we'll marry and if asked he will say he's going to marry me with the biggest shy little grin that continues to steal my heart.
