I missed them...

I made it through my first week of school and boy did I miss my boys. YES, this includes Damon even though I came home to the messiest house ever today! After Grandpa Young coming to watch the boys, Damon home with them on his days off, friends saving the day and watching them during Damon's court time (Thanks again, Lisa) we survived. We survived me gone every day, Shane screaming each morning when I left the house, and Trevor escaping out the front door only to find him half way down the street! We survived. I'm tired, I have more laundry then I want to realize, my feet hurt since I now have to wear something besides flip flops, a sink full of dishes, and toys all over the floor, but I couldn't be any happier knowing next week will be a piece of cake only having to work 2 days and being home with my sweet boys the rest of the week. Life is good.

We were driving downtown in Ventura last month and stopped for some fun in the water fountain. Look at my sweet Trevor. I love this little face he is pulling. Like he is contemplating life or maybe if he should jump into the water! They had way too much fun running around and splashing each other.
I LOVE that they are starting to play more together and enjoy being brothers! This picture was cut short as I had to run around the fountain because Trev was on his way into the water head first!Shane wouldn't stop for a picture he was too busy walking from one fountain to the next and splashing in the water!

Chocolate Cake Anyone

Well, I survived my first day of school! The kids were good, they are too shy the first day. The only problem is I'm not use to being on my feet all day so I have blisters on my feed and a major headache!! Good thing Shane and I made the most delicious chocolate cake you have ever tasted! Well, if you live in Vegas or have ever been to one of my boys' birthday's I guess it isn't as good as Nothing Bundt Cakes, but it is still yummy!

Chocolate Bundt Cake

1 chocolate cake mix

1 large pkg. chocolate pudding

4 eggs

1/2 Cup sour cream

1/2 Cup hot water

1/2 Cup oil

1 Cup chocolate chips

Powdered sugar

Mix ingredients together and place into grease bundt pan. Bake 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Sprinkle top with powdered sugar. Enjoy!

More of my classroom!

Ok, I had a user error and couldn't add any more pictures on my last post but had more to share! It's a school night so I better get to bed!!

This is the job board, where the kids help with different things throughout the week like taking attendance to the office, teacher assistant, etc.

Desks, desks, and more desks! We 18 kids now so that is not too bad!
This is the outside our room good work board. I love ribbon so I had fun using my Cricut and adding ribbon to my letters.

This is outside our door. We are going by Captain instead of Mrs! Arrrr, Captain Young!

Back to School

Notice the wooden boat in the corner. A parent made that for us. We now have the skeleton pirate reading a book!

Tomorrow is my first day back to school after my leave of absence last year. I'm job sharing with a friend who we student taught together and then taught together at our old school. Mrs. Cortney and I will be teaching 3rd grade. We had so much fun decorating our classroom we almost forgot about having to teach! Not really. I think we'll have a great year. I just hope Shane adjusts to all of this. Grandpa Young is coming out to take care of the boys while I work FT this next week. Then I'll be on my regular schedule of Monday and Tuesday and every other Wednesday. I better go pack my lunch. Teachers get nervous for the first day of school too. Wish me luck!

We had Back to School Night BEFORE school even started on Friday. We had little treasures on the desks for each kid with candy inside and a pencil that says "Welcome Aboard" to go with our pirate theme!

Mrs. Cortney's husband made this sign for our room and it says Garr, Captains Cortney and Young says, "Ye who enter will discover the treasure of knowledge."

Super Day of Fun!

Today was my last day of staying at home full time. I'm back to school part time tomorrow. No tears shed yet, but I'm sure they will come tomorrow between me and Shane! We decided to call today "Super Day of Fun." Shane was so excited we had a day full of fun and we did almost everything he wanted! We started the day off with a trip to Target (Shane's favorite place to shop) with an icee and popcorn ordered our shopping trip began. We got a slip N slide and new paint so we were ready for some fun! Trevor and Shane had fun on the slip n slide. Trevor wasn't excited when he slipped though! Trevor went down for a nap so Shane and I painted with his new paint set then we watched a movie with popcorn and chewed the gum he picked out at Target. Next, we had worn ourselves out so much we had to take a nap and I even joined Shane! When we woke up we headed to Chuck E. Cheese and then to Costco for ice cream (I shopped too). We finish off the Super Day of Fun with Over the Hedge and then off to bed! Whew what a day, but we all had fun. Shane told me "I sure do love our special day." He also kept telling me how much he loved me through out the day! He loved all this special attention and I loved not doing one bit of work all day but just played with my boys! To make things even better Grandma and Grandpa Stewie are coming late tonight too!! Drive safe.

Shane having fun watching Tarzan with Mommy eating popcorn and chewing gum! He is not use to having me watch a whole movie with him because I usually work during movie time!

Trevor loved being outside while I was getting the Slip N Slide ready. He loves being outside and says "outside, outside" all day and pounds on the sliding glass door!

Have fun tomorrow while I'm busy working!

"I want a beach at my house!"

Well, Shane is obsessed with the beach! He loves ALMOST everything about it. He isn't so sure about the sandcrabs they send him running away when Damon picked some up! He wanted to go to the beach today but I told him we couldn't because it is too far away. He told me, "I want a beach at my house!" In honor of his request, I am posting pictures of us at the beach earlier this month in Ventura.
Mr. Trevor likes the beach too! He loved doing what he does best, running around! This kid never stops! He did not out of the water once he went in!

We had to test our Grandpa Young's new surfboard! Between Damon and Shane I don't know how much use Larry got out of it but I'm sure he'll find the time in his new retired life to go again!

Animal Lover

Ok, you all know it's not me that is the animal lover so I don't know where little Trevor gets it from! He absolutely LOVES animals. He has always loved our dog Liberty but if you have every met Liberty who wouldn't love her! She is the best dog. Anyway, I noticed Trevor's extreme love for animal when we went to California this month. First, we went to the Santa Barbara Zoo (I'll post pictures later) and he would just sit and watch the animals at first and then he wanted out of his stroller so he could get closer. Then, we went to the Fair and he LOVED the petting zoo. He tried to ride on a goat and gave all the animals kisses. The entire time he was squealing with delight! The last animal place we went to was the rodeo and I was standing there with Trevor looking at the cattle and he started to crawl under the corral to get in with the cattle!!! I screamed and scared the animals back and pick Mr. Trevor off the ground! The sweetest part was him with the horses. He is my little animal lover!
