Does anyone recognize these school supplies? Thanks for the donations, as you can see they will be used and used!
From left to right Mike, Damon, and Matt went down to Guatemala to watch one of the foundation kids graduate from high school. She was the first in her family EVER to graduate and it wouldn't have been possible without Brite Blue. Congrats Marisoul!
A few of the foundation kids in their NEW school! The little boy sitting by Damon is Christian. He went to school last year and has won Damon's heart!
All I can say is wow! Look at this tender baby and the conditions she lives in. Damon says I can't go to Guatemala until I promise I won't scoop the babies all up and take them home with me! That may be a hard promise. I think we may plan a trip in April- any takers on coming with us to meet these amazing people?
Soon to be dinner!
The public school as been introduced to Brite Blue and the teachers find their most promising and poor students for the foundation to place into private school. This year there was a sweet new girl named Brenda. This is her mom cooking dinner in their home.
Most of these kids are so poor they can't even play on the soccer fields so Damon and his friends decided to rent out the fields for the night and buy the kids some food and drinks so they can play their little hearts out. Laughing and playing is what they did and they had a blast!

This little boy has a family of 9 and just wonders the streets all day with his only 2 pieces of clothing on and no shoes. They bought him some breakfast which I'm sure is all he had eaten in days. After breakfast, they couldn't find him anymore to buy him shoes. So sad!

This is Christian, Damon's buddy. He will be starting his second year of school through the foundation. He loves soccer and Damon looked all over Target to find him the perfect ball. Christian was thrilled!

Next year I know what to do with all our kids Halloween candy! The mob came and enjoyed the 10 pounds Damon brought with him. I just love the bowl this kid found to put it in!!
As I look at these pictures and reflect on my life tears come to my eyes. Why am I so blessed to live how I do? Why do some mom's have to watch their children starve or make them work to help bring a meal onto the table? Just today we stopped at McDonald's TWICE! One trip for morning drinks and then lunch for the boys because I was running late for pre-school. We usually get Sluprees once a week or some Starbucks. Sometimes in Target they pick out a toy or new movie and always and I mean ALWAYS get popcorn and an icee. My children have never gone hungry or without clothes or shoes. Maybe there are some more clothes I would LIKE for them to have but it would join a closet full of perfectly good clothes. A few pieces of candy or some crayons would never bring my boys this much joy. I don't know why I'm so blessed and have been given so much, but I do know that I don't need to take it for granted. I want my children to learn that we must help others who haven't been given so much and I'm grateful for the foundation and Damon's hard work so we can teach them this.

Do you remember how Shane gave up one of his Speed Racer cars? Look at the tender little boy Damon found to give it too. His old and only other toy is in his other hand. It is an empty water bottle with string tied to one end and a rock tied to the other! Damon said he wouldn't put the car down. Shane couldn't believe the water bottle was his only toy. I can't look at the picture without getting tears in my eyes. I love that my boys are learning to how blessed we are and how important it is to sacrifice to give to others. Even if it is a small little car, it is important to Shane and he misses playing with it but is happy knowing this little boy now has a real toy!

That is so incredibly awesome! What a great experience for Shane and Trevor, too! I don't think I could go with you though because it would make me way too sad to see all those children with so little!
I am so proud and touched that I could in a very small way be a part of this. What an amazing lesson you are teaching your children and to those around you. Way to go Damon and way to go to you Tricia for supporting him in his endeavors! Now, I must go dry the tears that this post brought to my eyes!
Oh my goodness! What incredible pictures and what an incredible trip. I'm so glad you guys do so much -- what great examples you are! Thanks for sharing!
I'm at a loss for words.
You see it in pictures, but it doesn't feel real. Seeing those children with someone you know MAKES it real. I don't even know where to begin.
Beautiful post! Very touching!!!
Oh, and I want to scoop up that little girl in the "play-pin" & take her home SOOOO bad! I don't think I could go there...I'd be walking around with everyone's babies in my arms. Ü
Thank you Brite Blue for helping so many children. Now what can we do for those babies?
Thank you for that reminder of how wonderful our lives are. I so take it for granted. Let me know how we can help brite blue in the future. I totally spaced it this time.
This is so touching. It reminds me of the conditions Curtis dealt with while serving in Merida, Mexico. He continues to remind me to be content with all I have beacause it is so much more than most have in a lifetime. Thanks you for your reminder of that and for the truly precious children. How wonderful for them to have their lives touched with these blessings.
